John Wilson - John and his wife have been dedicated RV'rs since he retired in 1999. We welcome them both to Smyth County Jam. John says he has been playing guitar and banjo since he was about thirteen. He spent thirty years in Kentucky, working for the Kentucky Fish and Game Department, where he was editor of the state magazine. John was born in near-by Kingsport, and raised in Florida. His maternal grandfather played banjo and on his father's side his grandmother also played banjo! His talent comes from both sides of his people, so to speak. John says he has an admiration for the New Lost City Ramblers, a very talented group who were together in the late 60's to 70's.
