Gary Testerman - Gary says he was born in Jefferson, North Carolina. He spent his working life (and maintains a home) in Maryland. He is now retired from the US Army Aberdeen Proving Grounds as a civilian worker there. At the present time he is living in Crumpler, North Carolina caring for his elderly parents. We are happy to see Gary at the Smyth County Jam, and hope he can come back soon. Gary plays bass and says he is just a one instrument person. He is mainly self-taught in playing bass. He says no one in his family was a musician before him. His style of playing is very smooth and laid-back. Gary says he admires the music ability of Roy Huskey Junior.
