Jamie Sparks - We are so pleased to see this young man at the Smyth County Jam. Jamie is loaded with talent; he plays banjo, guitar, bass, dobro, and mandolin!! Jamie lives in Bristol, Virginia; he is a senior at Virginia High School. He hopes to attend East Tennessee State University and participate in the bluegrass program they offer there. He says he has three uncles who play music, in fact, they got him interested in it. Jamie is an only child and his only real pastime is music. Jamie says Mac Puckett and "Good Company "are starting back up as a band and he hopes to play with them. They will be appearing at "Song of the Mountains "on November 3rd, 2012. Jamie says he is a fan of the late Earl Scruggs and J.D. Crowe. He says he likes about all of the older bluegrass banjo pickers. He has no current favorite song.
