Daniel Smith - Daniel Smith comes to the Smyth County Jam from his home in Balcksburg, VA. He is employed by the University at Blacksburg. Daniel plays an excellent style of mandolin and admits to playing a little bit of fiddle. He says both his parents played music, so his talent comes from both sides. Some of the musicians he likes to listen to are: Bill Monroe, The Osborne Brothers, Jim and Jesse, the Stanley Brothers as well as Reno and Smiley.
