Smyth County Jam Bios

Carole Rosenbaum

Carole Rosenbaum - Carole was born in nearby Glade Spring, Virginia. She lives in Adwolfe community now. She has two sons and one grandson. Carole is retired from Smyth County Circuit Court. She is a regular at the Smyth County Jam, almost never absent except for weather-related events. She says she started fiddle lessons, a few years ago, but her teacher is not readily available at this time. Her fiddle was made by Randall Eller, one of our local luthiers. Carole says she enjoys genealogical research and photography. She lives on a very steep hill and her yard is populated by lots of wild things; deer which eat her flowers and everything else except no bears have dropped by yet! Being a crack shot she tries to kill the ground hogs when they invade her domain. Once she fed a ground hog to a bald eagle that came by for his dinner and she has a photo to prove it. Among her many accomplishments she Helen Richardson have complied and published a book titled "SMYTH COUNTY REMEMBERS". The book concerns Smyth County service persons that died while serving in WW2, Korea, Vietnam and Iraq. The book involved many hours of diligent research on the part of both Carole and Helen. Carole is also a member of the DAR. Carol owns a '55 FORD car, and is looking for a '54 FORD convertible--"if the price is right". Some of the musicians she likes to listen to are Elvis Presley. The Kingston Trio and Marty Robbins.
