Vincent "Vinnie" Ringrose - We at the Smyth County Jam are honored to welcome the huge talent of Vinnie Ringrose. We hope he will return often. Vinnie comes from Connecticut and now lives and works in SW Virginia. He is a group counselor at the regional jail near Abingdon. Vinnie sings many wonderful Irish ballads, and is quite the multi-talented musician: he says he plays five string banjo, harmonica and bodhran (a hand-held drum), in addition to his really fine guitar work. Some of the persons he says he admires are Tommy Makem, Clancy Brothers, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, John Prine and Leonard Cohen. Vinnie has been playing for about twenty-two or twenty-three years. He is quite charismatic; once you get acquainted with him and his music you will not soon forget him!
