Rudolph T. "Rudy" Richardson July 6, 1926 - January 11, 2021 ROANOKE, Va.
Rudolph T. "Rudy" Richardson, age 94, went to be with the Lord, on Monday, January 11, 2021, at the Virginia Veterans Care Center, Roanoke, Va. Rudy was born in Grayson County, Va. to the late Muncy and Minnie Richardson and was the last surviving member of his immediate family of 12 children. He was a retired coal miner. Many knew Rudy for his love of selling apples "apple man" – and his genuine smile. Rudy enjoyed watching his great-grandchildren playing sports, and thoroughly enjoyed changing tractor tires with his grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois W. Richardson.
Rudy is survived by three children, David Richardson and wife, Susan, Larry Richardson and wife, Becky, and Donna Cox and husband, Fred Cox Sr.; four grandchildren, Paul Richardson and wife, Angela, Fred Cox Jr. and wife, Kara, Sarah Marrs and husband, Jimmy, and Jennifer Richardson; seven great-grandchildren who he loved dearly, Wes and Will Richardson, Stuart and Katie May Cox, Landen and Ava Marrs, and River Rhodes.
In keeping with the family wishes – memorial services will be held at a later date.
