Liam Purcell - With great pleasure the Smyth County Jam welcomes Liam Purcell. Liam was born and still lives in Deep Gap, North Carolina. He lives with his parents and one brother. Liam is quite versitile: he plays fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass and dobro!(he sings too!!) He says his mother plays a 'little' dulcimer. Liam was involved in Helen White's JAM Program, after that he says he moslty made his own way in music. He is twelve years old and has been playing since he was six. Liam says he chooses "Nickel Creek" as a favorite band. He came to the jam after seeing it online. He says his first impression of the Smyth County Jam is a good one, he likes it a lot and hopes to return--(so do we!) Liam is home-schooled and is in the seventh grade category.
