Scott Patrick - This is Scott's first trip to the Smyth County Jam and we earnestly hope it will not be his last. Scott is from Riner, Virginia. He plays guitar mostly, and says a 'little' mandolin and bass. Scott's grandfather, Shelby Vest, taught him to play music at the Country Store in Floyd. He is on staff at Virginia Tech in the mechanical design department. Scott is a song writer and has had a song on an album in 2011. He says he likes the music of Alison Krauss and Union Station. "Someday" by Blue Highway is a favorite song.
