David Mowell - Although David was born in Kingsport, Tennessee, he is currently living in Johnson City, Tennessee. David is the younger brother of Tony Mowell, and like Tony, comes from a musical family, both parents being musicians. The Smyth County Jam is proud to have both David and Tony on our stage, and hope they will return as time permits. David is a full time student at ETSU and plays in the East Tennessee Bluegrass Pride Band, also. His major is in advertising and his minor in bluegrass. David plays mandolin, a little guitar, some bass and sings. He says the musician he most admires is Adam Steffey. There are too many favorite tunes and songs to mention one that is an absolute favorite.
