Jim Mixon - The Smyth County Jam welcomes Jim Mixon, who is Clark's brother. We count Clark and Nancy as 'regulars' at the Smyth County Jam. Jim plays guitar and sings, as well as playing bass. He has a very powerful singing voice. He played with Nancy and Clark in a gospel group some time ago. Jim lives outside of Boone, NC. He played bass for Kody Norris and the Watauga Mountain Boys for six years. Jim is retired from the Department of Highways, where he was a heavy equipment operator for thirty- three years. Jim says he now plays with a band out of Mountain City TN called the" Acorn Valley Boys." He says any and all good bluegrass musician are his favorites.
