Frank Massie - The Smyth County Jam welcomes a visitor from Aberdeenshire, Scotland; way up in the northern corner of that good country. Frank says this is his fifth consecutive visit to our area of the USA and the twentieth of his life. He finds our Appalachian area very appealing to him, reminding him of his home. He lives in England at the moment, however. Frank does not claim to play music, but rather dances in his kilt; the MacKenzie plaid. Perhaps on his next trip to our country he can dance for the jam! That would be VERY special; and likely a first! Frank is retired from the insurance business. He has three children and two grandsons. He saw the Whitetop Mountain Band while they were touring in Scotland and very much likes their music. Frank says he has had a couple of lessons in flatfoot dancing. Next time we see him he may be out there doing a great flatfoot! He says he has driven all over the USA, including the famed ROUTE 66. We wish him good luck and safe travelling.
