Mark Marshall - The Smyth County Jam welcomes Mark Marshall, from Mt Carmel, Tennessee. Mark plays an excellent banjo and says he plays a little guitar and bass. He is employed by TVA as an electrician. Mark is married and has one daughter. He has been playing banjo since he was around thirteen years old and began guitar at about eight years old. Mark's grandfather played about all the stringed instruments and his father also plays music, of course this got him interested in music. Mark seemed to be a little reluctant to be on stage, but he did really well with his playing. Mark says his favorite musicians are Flatt and Scruggs. He has no favorite tune or song. We hope to see more of Mark any tine he can come to the Smyth County Jam.
