William Lord - William Lord comes to the Smyth County Jam from his home in Marion, Virginia. Originally, he came to this area from Pennsylvania. William says he has played guitar since he was about five years old. He has three adult children. He says he has played some banjo some time ago. He is an outstanding singer, and very good guitarist. He says he worked at Natalie Mills for seventeen years and that the last job he worked was at Visador. William says his entire family played music; that was their only entertainment at one time. He says he likes the music of Hank Williams (senior) and Stonewall Jackson, and others of that era. William said he likes all good music, and has no favorite song. It is our pleasure to have him at the Smyth County Jam.
