Sue & Fred Knorre - It is not often the Smyth County Jam gets visitors from the Lone Star State. We welcome Fred and Sue Knorre from Round Rock, Texas. They are here for the Stanley Bothers Festival this Memorial weekend, in Mclure, VA.. Sue is an excellent fiddler, and plays some back-up guitar. Fred plays banjo and guitar, (although we did not get to hear him this visit, as time did not permit.) They are not with a band at this point in time, but say they enjoy just jamming with other musicians. Sue says her father played violin and she found his fiddle in a closet and began to learn how to play it. They both admire Ralph Stanley and his group as well as Bill Monroe and Earl Scruggs, along with Stuart Duncan.
