John "Rattlesnake Daddy" Kinsey - The Smyth County Jam is happy to welcome newcomer John Kinsey to our venue. He says he thinks this is the BEST jam he has ever come across, after sampling over three hundred! This accolade gives the jam's ego a real boost. John makes his home in Johnson City, Tennessee. He is retired from Delaware and Hudson Railroad Company in upstate New York. John says he will never go back to live in the north; he likes the friendliness of our area people. He has been here about eight years. John is a singer/songwriter/musician. He says all his family played music. John is well acquainted with several different musical instruments, but the guitar is his specialty. He is a member of the band "SENIORS EXPRESS." John has been playing most of sixty years. He has a CD out currently it is called "OLD VIRGINIA". This is the title of his favorite song; also written by him. John says he has two grown sons and five grand children.
