Sonia Kelley - The Smyth County Jam welcomes Sonia Kelley to this venue. She says she comes from Ashe County, North Carolina; but was born in Delaware. She lives up near Pond Mountain. Sonia plays guitar, bass and sings. Sonia started her musical career at age seventeen; playing in a rock band!
She says her mother played piano and her dad played violin.
Sonia loves being in this part of the south and says she is a southerner from her nose to her toes! We like that sort of enthusiasm!
She earns her way by making music, at the moment she is a single act, but is considering joining a gospel group in the near future.
Earl Scruggs is her all-time favorite musician.
