Addie Keene - Addie has been to the Smyth County Jam several times some years ago. We are happy to see her back with us. She was originally from Maine, has spent about thirty years in Denver, Colorado. Addie now lives in Kingsport, Tennessee. Her husband is deceased and she has no children. Addie plays guitar and has a fine singing voice, she does "country songs" for the most part. She says she doesn't call her group a band, that implies they might have to be at a certain place at a certain time. Addie's father played harmonica. She got interested in music from listning to radio and to her parents singing at home. Addie's first guitar was bought when she was about twelve years old, from Sears. She began playing music about fifty years ago. Addie says her musical idol is Kittty Wells. She has no favorite song; there are too many to mention. Addie says the late Taze Farmer first got her to visit the jam. Her first impression of the jam is that we have a good set-up and are well organized. She says she just wishes we were closer (in miles) so she could come more often. Her husband got her started in music, they sang together some.
