Paul & Elizabeth Hill - Paul Hill and his bride-to-be Elizabeth came from a great distance to the Smyth County Jam. They come from Bristol, England via the Galax Fiddler's Convention. This is Elizabeth's first trip to USA, Paul has been here once a long time back to attend MERLEFEST. Paul is a lecturer at a university in Bristol and Elizabeth is a manager of a charity Arts Project. Paul is a first rate banjo-picker; Elizabeth does the honors on the bass fiddle and sings also. Paul says he plays Scruggs style for the most part, but does play some claw hammer banjo as well. Elizabeth tells us that her dad plays banjo. Paul plays in some bands back in England. We at Smyth County Jam are thrilled to meet these fine musicians. Both Paul and Elizabeth say their favorite musician/singer is Alison Krauss.
