Ryan Henard - Another member of The Big Creek Ramblers is Ryan Henard. Ryan will go into the seventh grade this semester, at Rogersville, TN school. The Smyth County Jam is happy to welcome all these superbly talented young guys , we hope they will be able to come back soon. Ryan plays mandolin, guitar and a "little bass", he says. He too, has a sister who plays fiddle, but says she is too shy to play much. Ryan has been playing mandolin for six years. He would like to enter the ETSU Bluegrass program at a later date. He likes fishing and hunting. Ryan likes to listen to Third Tyme Out Band. HIs favorite tune is "Salt Creek".
Ryan is part of the hard-driving band; "Boots on the Ground" and says Audie Ratliff taught him to play. Ryan is a freshman in high school in Rogersville. He says he has been to the jam before a few times. It is a long way to come. "The Lonesome River Band' is his favorite band, but has no favorite song/tune. In the future, he is considering a career as a teacher or a mechanic, but says he has not decided anything so far.
