Carlos David Frost - The Smyth County Jam is happy to welcome Carlos Frost to our venue. He comes from Galax, Virginia and plays fiddle, guitar, mandolin and a little banjo. He has played and sang for about forty-five years; a multi-talented fellow. Carlos' father, Ike Frost, was a well-known banjo player, in the Galax area. He usually played claw-hammer style. A brother, Jerry Wayne Frost, also plays music; banjo and guitar. Carlos played with the Griggs a gospel group out of North Carolina until it was not feasible to travel with skyrocketing fuel costs. Carlos says he likes to listen to Don Reno play and sing. We invite him to return to the Smyth County Jam any time he can come.
