Junior Cornett - The Smyth County Jam bids a warm welcome to Junior Cornett, who comes to us from Mountain City, Tennessee. Junior says he plays guitar, bass and a "little" banjo; he is also a fine singer. He says his grandfather played claw hammer banjo. Junior is in the furniture business; Furniture Liquidators, Located in Mountain City. He is a member of the band "Bluegrass Fever." In addition to his musical hobby, Junior likes to go fishing, when time permits. He is married to an excellent bass player; Carmie Cornett, whom we see now and then. Carmie knows how to slap that old bass to get a lot of music from it. Junior says he likes all bluegrass music, and he could not choose one favorite picker or band. A song he likes very much is the fast-paced "Rolling in My Sweet Baby's Arms." Junior plays in a country group currently called "Country Fever." He says he played in a country group some time ago for about twenty years.
