Duane Compton - The Smyth County Jam is fortunate to welcome musicians of Duane Compton's ability to our midst. This is his first trip to the Jam. Duane was born in Richlands, Virginia, but now resides in Radford, Virginia. He is self-employed as a contractor. Duane plays several instruments: bass, banjo, guitar, and mandolin. He says his father and some uncles played music also. Currently, Duane is not a member of a band. He does not have children. Duane's favorite musician is Russell Moore. He says his favorite song (currently), is "Till the End." We do hope Duane will return to play for us whenever he is able.
