Compton, Cody - The Smyth County Jam welcomes Cody Compton to this venue. Cody is the son of Ervin and Vicki Compton. He surely has a musical heritage; since both parents play and sing quite well. Cody says he plays guitar and mandolin, and sings. He has a sister who does not play music; he says he tried to get her interested, but has not had any success so far. Cody makes his home in Lebanon, Virginia. He is sports manager at the Wal-Mart there. Cody is married and has one child, a son. He says he has been playing about ten years or more. His favorite musician is Tony Rice. His current favorite tune is "Church Street Blues." We hope Cody will come back to the Smyth County Jam often.
