Dale Collins - Dale comes to the Smyth County Jam from the Saltville-Rich Valley area. He is a talented musician, playing guitar and piano along with about all other stringed instruments: banjo bass and mandolin. He says he played piano mostly at one time. Dale says he was a rock and roll musician until about four years ago. He is a lung cancer survivor, now retired from his trucking business. Dale has two daughters. He says Larry Hogston saved his life by telling him to get out among people and "live " instead of feeling sorry for himself--that advice worked well! Dale prefers gospel music above all the rest now days. He also admires the Osborne Brothers band.
