Blake Collins - What a really out-going pleasant young man who turned up at The Smyth County Jam. Blake comes from a musical family and as the saying goes, “the apple does not fall far from the tree." He is the son of Tony Collins of Bristol, Tennessee (formally from Chilhowie, VA) and a brother to Jamie. Blake plays a variety of instruments including mandolin, guitar, banjo and saxophone! He is attending Virginia Highlands Community College presently but he plans to transfer to UT in the fall. Blake says he was very much helped and influenced by a local musician Ron Green (deceased) who helped him to overcome stage fright and to be at ease in front of a crowd.
