Johnny Coleman - Johnny Coleman lives in Haysi, Virginia. We are happy to see Johnny at the Smyth County Jam. He is a brother to Michael Coleman. They both play in Gary Edwards "Basic Grass Band." Johnny plays both lead and rhythm guitar. He says he had an uncle and a brother who played awhile back. He is a disabled, retired coal miner. Johnny has two daughters and three grandchildren. He also plays bass and sings some too. He has spent about forty years playing guitar. Johnny likes the music of Ralph Stanley and Larry Sparks. He says he likes any bluegrass and gospel music. "Don't This Road Look Rough and Rocky", "Answer the Call" and Wildwood Flower " are some of his favorite tunes/songs.
