Kathryn "Parham" Brickey - Kathryn hails from Asheville, North Carolina. She has graduated from ETSU and is working part time at a hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee. Kathryn has been playing fiddle all her life (since she was six years old.) She says her father plays guitar. Her ambition is to play music, and she seems to be well on her way. The Smyth County Jam is so happy to see the talented young people we get on our stage. It gives us hope that the music is alive and thriving. Kathryn says she likes to hear Alison Krauss and also likes the late Johnny Cash. We hope to see this young lady back again soon at the jam. Kathryn is now engaged to Carl Brickey who also frequents the Smyth County Jam.
Update: Kathryn and Carl were married on September 10, 2011. They also have a son, Ryder, who was born on December 6, 2012. Ryder was seen playing a fiddle when he was only 10 days old, so watch out Bluegrass world.
