Gina May Bailey - Gina May comes to the Smyth County Jam from the county of Sussex in England. Gina is the 'other half of the band called "Cut the Shuffle." She plays an excellent fiddle as well as fretless banjo and sings quite well. Gina May teaches grammar school and says she tries to expose the young children to her type music. She has two sons; one living in New York and the other in Vancouver, Canada. She was about eight years old when she began to learn the the fiddle. Gina's father's side of the family played music; some piano and mandolin. She says she admires the fiddle playing of Edd Hammonds, late of West Virginia. Her favorite songs are "Queen of the Earth" and "Child of the Stars". Gina is always welcome to come and play at the Smyth County Jam at any time she is in this area.
